Digg CEO Jay Adelson and Google cofounder Larry Page smiling so hard, it’s like they just wrapped up a deal
This year’s Sun Valley retreat, put on as usual by investment bank Allen & Co, will be Digg CEO Jay Adelson’s second. But it marks Adelson’s third or fourth trip around the block trying to sell Digg — with Allen & Co’s help, naturally. Read The Rest
Will either Jerry Yang or Steve Ballmer still be in their CEO chairs this time next year?
Will either Jerry Yang or Steve Ballmer still be in their CEO chairs this time next year? Both have thoroughly embarrassed themselves in their handling of Microsoft’s on-again, off-again, on-again, off-again acquisition talks with Yahoo. The tide of public opinion, at long last, may be turning Yang’s way. In an interview with Andrew Ross Sorkin of the NY Times, he has at last articulated a reason for being CEO: Without him, he argues, Yahoo would be lost.
Aaron Greenspan, an amiable young entrepreneur, toils a mere 15-minute walk south of the Palo Alto
SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Aaron Greenspan, an amiable young entrepreneur, toils a mere 15-minute walk south of the Palo Alto, Calif., offices of Facebook Inc., where he’s forging something of a cottage industry out of needling the current darling of Silicon Valley.
Greenspan, who presents similar claims to have had an uncredited role in Facebook’s origins, said he has no intention of suing the company. He has, however, plunged into a quixotic and surprisingly adept legal effort to challenge the company’s registered trademark. In addition, he’s using the experience of publicly criticizing Facebook to inform his own startup.
Why tons of web sites can’t make money online?
1-) They don’t have direct traffic
2-) They don’t have search engine traffic.
3-) They have general content sites and they’re not focused on nothing yet.
4-) Owners of those sites do not have strong relation-ship with other web developers.
5-) They do not have enough backlinks to survive.
6-) They dream of being rich while hitting the front pages of famous sites with funny or amazing pictures.
7-) They do everything for short term. They think that long term plans will never work. When short term passed, they say “if i should have started” “if i should have done” etc.
8- ) They do not have effective ad-placement
9-) Owners of those sites work more than 10 hours a day on these web sites. But they forget that, advertisers do not pay for their works/hour. They forget that, effective 2 hours is better than unconscious 10 hours on net.
10-) Owners of those sites are impatient.

Ten years after it was founded in a Californian garage by Sergey Brin and Larry Page, Google has become the dominant player in the global online advertising market and one of the biggest multinational companies in the world by value.
Brin and Page return in this year’s MediaGuardian 100, having made way in last year’s list for their company’s chief executive, Eric Schmidt.
But if our 2007 panel thought the web giant’s founders had taken a less prominent role in the day-to-day running of the company, then this year’s judges said they were right back at the forefront of Google’s global activities.
Sergey Brin Cares About The Children

Google CEO Eric Schmidth and cofounder Larry Page sat down with reporters for over an hour during an impromptu press conference while playing Bilderbergers at Allen & Co.’s exclusive Sun Valley getaway yesterday. There was talk of Google’s Android cell-phone operating system; of China; of the search-ads deal with Yahoo.
