The Importance of Alexa: Is it Worth it?

I prefer to use my alexa rankings to motivate myself only.  But it doesn’t deserve more indeed. Create a funny images blog and promote it via social media sites, after 2 months you’ll be ranked at least 200.000 at global rankings. Submitting 100 funny pics and having a web blog in 200.000?

Why Alexa is not that imporant;

1-) You can easily get ranked well via sudden social media traffic.
2-) We don’t know how alexa rank our sites. (their new algorithm is confusing)

Why Alexa is imporant;

1-) Many people care about alexa rankings.
2-) It’s fun and motivational.
